I pulled up to a drive in window after waiting in line. When I received my food, the staff person told me that the person ahead of me had already paid for my food. I was really blessed with their kindness. I plan to pay it forward.

I have created a business card for my Random Acts of Kindness. My last act was at work (hospital), it was lunch time, and I was going into the cafeteria. There was a young boy standing alone, looking at the menu board. He asked if it was expensive to eat there. He looked like he hadn't slept either. I told him it was on me, and since I was sure he wasn't there alone, he could get whatever he wanted...I would pay for it, and to pass my card along to a family member.

When I was very sick, three pre-school friends, still great friends, visited me every day for five months, bringing food, drinks, funny pictures and so many funny stories from our childhood teen days. It helped me get through the most difficult days of my life.

There was a young single mother in front of me at the Walgreens pharmacy with her daughter that had an ear infection. It was sad to see that the mother did not have enough money to purchase the medication for her daughter and was asking what else she could purchase. I offered to fund the remaining balance so the little child could have some relief.

I saw an older gentleman looking for his car as I was entering Wal-Mart. As I was leaving the store about 20 minutes later, he was still looking. I asked him if he could use some help locating his car. About 15 minutes later, I helped him find his car many parking spots away from the store.

Temperatures in St. Louis were hovering around 110 with the heat index. Everyone is suffering but it only takes a minute to help someone. There was an elderly homeless gentleman sitting on a curb at the gas station. I came out with two cold sodas, a bag of chips and some wet paper towels from the bathroom. He was very appreciative and thanked me profusely. I simply asked that he do something nice for someone else if he could.

As I was driving to work, I saw an elderly lady on the side of the road with a flat tire, she looked overwhelmed. I pulled over, and to begin with, I believe that she was apprehensive about taking my help. I changed her tire for her even though I ended up being late for work!

I teach at an adult G.E.D and trade school. A student didnt have any money and was looking for a bus pass to go on a job interview. I had a monthly pass that I use to get back and forth to work with. I did not know the student, but made an agreement that the student could use my pass for the interview if she promised to return before I needed to leave work. She attended her interview and was hired, I had my pass to use to go home for the day!

This morning after my workout, it was raining pretty hard outside and there was a homeless man walking near the gym. He could have gotten under a covered area, but I decided to give him my umbrella. I have to say that the rain pouring over me was rather refreshing, especially knowing I had helped someone less fortunate than me!

We got our oil changed at our local Super Lube last week late on a 96 degree day. There were only 2 technicians there so neither could leave to get any cold drinks, but they said they were dying for a Gatorade! When they were through with our car, my husband immediately drove to the closest convenience store, about a half mile away, and bought 4 large Gatorades in different flavors, and took them back to them. They were so surprised and thrilled. Little things can make such a big difference!

I just witnessed an act of kindness by my Caregiver, Paula Grey Tyson. She dropped me at Safeway, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 (about 2:00 pm), for me to get a few items and when I came out my caregiver was screaming "She is trying to rob her, she is trying to rob her!". It happened a young woman was trying to snatch an old lady of her purse and at the screams of my caregiver the young woman got scared and ran off; in the meantime we called 911 with my cell phone. So thanks to my caregiver the little lady got saved from being robbed.

There was a mother and daughter in a McDonalds line. The cashier gave the total. The Mother was 25 cents short. She got anxious and told her daughter to run to the car and search for change. I stopped her and just handed her a quarter. My son was watching this go down and when we got back to the car he said, Dad, did you see the look on her face when you gave her a quarter? She was so grateful.

I formed a card drive, then placed ads on facebook and made small posters to promote sending cards to a 14 year old girl in my area. She has life threatening cancer and was undergoing her 2nd bone marrow transplant, she was to be away from home and was not allowed to have visitors, so she was very lonely. I contacted people I know from all over including a school teacher I know in Japan and a friend on vacation from in Bermuda. I made a card diary for her that included several maps and forms for her to be able to daily keep track of where her cards came. One day she recieved 17 cards! This helped her so much that her recovery had been faster then expected!
